Students delivered Crush soda to grades K-4 after lunch. Thanks to all the students and staff for supporting this years Crush soda sales!!
This coming Thursday, February 15, and Friday, February 16, students will be taking final exams. On Thursday, students will take exams for periods 4,5, and 6. On Friday, students will take exams for periods 1,2, and 3. Students who have met the attendance requirements may be exempt from exams. Friday is also an 11:30am dismissal for students. In addition, there is no school on Monday, February 19th in observance of President's Day.
This coming Thursday, February 15th, at 5:00 pm, a representative from Rend Lake College will be available to meet with parents of senior students. The purpose of this meeting is for parents to get help in filling out the parent portion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aide (FAFSA). The FAFSA is a graduation requirement. Please plan to attend this meeting if you need help with the FAFSA.
The Large Animal Care class visited Cattleman's Livestock Auction in Wayne City today. There were a lot of cute goats and calves!

Jefferson County CEO students stopped by Webber High School today to provide information about the program. Webber's own Sarah Myers O'Dell is part of the program and helped present the information to Juniors. This program teaches students about the world of entrepreneurship and business, and teaches them valuable skills to be successful in a variety of areas.
Bluford FFA Members are attending their second day at the SIUC Ground Zero FFA Conference!
The High School Boys Basketball game vs Goreville at 6:00pm tonight will be streamed on Black Cats Network on YouTube.
On February 13th, a representative from Rend Lake College will meet during the day with high school seniors. This meeting is to help students understand the process of completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is a graduation requirement. Then, on February 15th at 6pm, the representative will be back to assist both students and parents in completing the application. The Scholar Bowl JV team compete in the Freshman/Sophmore Midland Trail Conference Tournament on Thursday January 11th. They did an amazing job placing Second in the Tournament. Audrey Frey scored an outstanding number of toss ups (23) in three matches. Looking for great things ahead from our JV team.
Scholar Bowl Update!!!! Varsity Team did a great job in the Midland Trail Conference last week. They brought home another trophy for our trophy case. Very proud of the way they competed. Great Job
Junior High Volleyball tryouts will be Tuesday, January 16th for students in grades 5-8 from 3:15pm until 5:00pm in the JH gym. There will then be practice on Wednesday (time to be announced) and on Thursday from 3:15pm-5:00pm.
Mike Bost, our congressional representative, recently visited our school. Senior Myranda Stoeber did an outstanding job showcasing the school's technical department. She explained how students learn welding and clarified the differences between various welding techniques. Congressman Bost was impressed with the remarkable work our school is doing!
This is just a reminder that this Friday, January 12th, is a school improvement day, and students will be dismissed at 11:30am.
