A lot has happened in a VERY short period of time. In the span of a week we went from being on pause, rapidly through phases almost daily, to now where we can do almost anything we want. Go figure! Our seasons as they stand today:JH volleyball Feb.1-27, JH Boys Basketball Feb.1-March 6, JH Girls Basketball March 8-April 10. HS still to be determined. Sorry, gotta go folks. I have many new schedules to make!
Just hanging out waiting for the kids to come back Monday. I tried, but I can't convince this guy that it's not that cold out here.
Thanks to some excess Title money, we have been able to further update classroom instructional technology. The 65" LED displays are much easier for students to see and using an iPad as a mobile interactive board means the teacher can instruct from anywhere in the room.
Saturday is the day! Ruritan Club breakfast is back after taking off a couple of months. Join us in supporting a group that does so much for the community and school.
A new art sculpture adorns the front foyer!
This has been a trying year to say the least. We can play, we can play with limitations, we can't play. We've adjusted to it all and stayed prepared for what might be. The last couple of nights going from gym to gym and seeing basketballs bouncing, volleyballs being served, kids laughing, playing together, preparing to compete. After all we've been through this is very refreshing and reminds me just why I do this.
2nd grade is practicing their red words this afternoon.
We are now in tier 1 mitigation which allows somewhat of a return of sports teams. To that affect, boys HS basketball will practice Tuesday 3 :20 to 4:40, HS volleyball 5-7, and JH boys basketball 3:10-5 for grades 6-8, and 5-7 grades 4-5. Good to be back!
Special thanks to the Bluford Retired Teachers for the 24 books donated to the 4th Grade in memory of Donna Miller.
Donna Miller served BGS for 40 years as a teacher. She passed away in mid-December. The fourth grade class created an art exhibit in her honor. In addition to that, memorial money was donated to purchase books for the BGS library. Her legacy will live on at BGS.
