The Christmas program will be quite a bit different this year, but it's in the works! The junior high students are doing a phenomenal job of videoing and editing.
The district is thankful to have received an $11,525 grant from Ameren to improve energy efficiency through insulation and weather stripping. Work was completed last weekend and the district is expected to save approximately $2,500 a year in energy costs.
The district is helping to spread the word about the last food box distribution in Bluford of 2020. Volunteers from Project Mom and Dad have teamed up with Frey Farms and Cusumano and Sons to provide 250 free boxes containing meat, dairy, and produce. Distribution will take place Saturday, December 19, beginning at 8:30 at the New Life Missionary Baptist Church. Elderly, disabled, or homebound residents can call the village hall at 732-8773 before December 17, at 4:00 p.m. to schedule a delivery.
Some little tricksters got the Superintendent good today!
Congratulations to the November students of the month!
We received a call from the railroad this morning that they will be closing the crossing by the post office again today between 8:30 - 9:00. They said that it most likely WILL NOT be open by the time school is over.
With our desk upgrade, we have a few of desks to sell. We think this style is potentially original to the school when it opened. If you are feeling nostalgic, contact me at sgordon@blufordschools.org. They could make a great Christmas gift!
Junior high PE sure has looked different this year, but kudos to creative teachers who have made it work for kids!
It was awfully sweet and greatly appreciated to receive thank you notes from the first grade for their new desks.
Thanks to a federal grant, we are able update the rest of our grade school student furniture. We had been incrementally updating, but now the entire building through high school will have new student desks and chairs!
BOTH railroad crossings in town are closed (Bluford rd. and South Ave.) You will need to take Markham City Rd. to get to school.
We received word that the rail crossing on Bluford Rd. by the post office will be closed all day tomorrow, December 8. The crossing at Auburn Ln., west of town will also be closed. Please use the crossing at South Ave. or Markham City Rd.
BUSD "Twelve Days of Christmas" begins tomorrow! Let's show our spirit and spread some joy before our Christmas break. #herewego
Congratulations to our October BGS students of the month!

It's always cool to see kids in learning a trade!
How else would you know if you are properly social distanced?!?!
We have a pretty cool addition to first grade for the holidays!
