Fifth grade students made Jell-O cells to help further our study of plant and animal cells.
HS XC Results from Marion:
The boys and girls High school cross country teams ran their first meet of the season down @ Marion yesterday in the heat against much larger schools. They did great at their first races of the year!
The day was capped off by the boys taking 2nd overall as a team, beating Carbondale, Centralia, Salem, and Cahokia of teams that had enough to score! Harrisburg, Johnston City, Vienna, trico, goreville, and Cobden also participated.
The girls had 2 freshman runners who did great in their first race of the season!

Our Athletic Department is connected with On Time Sports for free promotional t-shirts for the Winter 2024 season.
A representative from On Time Sports may contact businesses asking for a donation/sponsorship of t-shirts that are then given to the school district for giveaways.

Good afternoon Bluford School Families. Just a reminder that tomorrow Friday, August 30 there is an 11:30 dismissal. Monday, September 2 there will be no school in observance of Labor Day.
There will be no JH BB or SB played tonight at Bluford Fields. All games and or practices for JH are canceled today EXCEPT JH CC which will practice after school indoors.

High School Cross Country heads down to Marion today to the Marion Fast-Start Invite!
Girls run @ 6:00, boys run @ 6:45!
The meet is located @ the Marion High School Track just south of the high school.
Results will be posted after the completion of both races.
The High School boys Cross Country team has been featured as one of the "teams to watch" this upcoming season for 1A.
Along with the team, senior Jaxon Dalby is also listed as one of the "athletes to watch" this season as well in all of 1A.
This week in Ms. Heinzman’s Social Studies class, students have been learning about the different regions of the United States!
Jr High softball for today is cancelled.
NFHS is offering a discount for the NFHS Network Subscription. This allows individuals to access a live feed broadcast of our HS Boys and Girls Basketball games, as well as our HS Volleyball games.
HS Physical Science students practiced their measuring skills using lab equipment and the metric system!
8th grade Physical Science had hands on labs today exploring Force. We discussed balanced and unbalanced force as well as friction. Boys against girls Tug of War!
The boys won until we changed the friction on the floor by removing their shoes.
They also played Jenga, built a house out of cards and tried arm wrestling to visualize balanced and unbalanced force.
