Should we win Friday, we would play Monday March 6, 6pm at the SIU-C Arena for the Super sectional title which is one game away from Champaign and the STATE tourney. Go get em Trojans!!!
Webber Nation: this is the e-ticket code for Friday night. We are highly encouraged to use this instead of paying at door. You can, however, still pay at door they prefer this to expediate lines.
I've been getting a lot of questions now on this Boys 2022-23 team and their place in Webber lore. Get a cup of coffee and your reading glasses out Nation, its history time.
Right now (well after tonight) there will be 16 teams in class 1A still playing basketball, and we are one of those. Quite an accomplishment indeed. This stage of the game is generally referred to as the sweet 16. Only one other time in our history have been part of a sweet 16. The HOF 2004-05 Boys team made sweet sixteen under the old 2 class system, now of which there are 4. Back then there were more teams in class A then what there are in the new 4 class system now. Back then their sweet 16 was the supersectional at SIU-C. Today our sweet 16 is a sectional championship. Back then 8 teams went to STATE, now just 4, so in essence our supersectional would be equivelant to a quarter final state game. The question, is this the farthest we have ever been ? The answer is yes and no. It depends on how you look at it. This team is writing their own book. Lets see how it ends. Then debate which was the best ever.
Congrats on another great win! Sweet sixteen! The Trojans will take on the winner of Wayne City/Mounds Meridian Friday night at 7:00.
Thursday March 2, JH VB will play a C game at 5:15 before the regularly scheduled match at 6. That game is at Jasper.
Tonight's volleyball game vs Bethel is now going to be at Bethel since we are still without power at Bluford Schools. Still a 5:30 start time with a C game. The bus will leave Bluford at 4:40.
This goes out to Bluford Nation: JH Track tryouts begin Tues. Feb. 28 from 3:15 to 4:30.
Tryouts will be for : training, distance runners (800 and 1600m), High jump and long jump. Wed. Mar.1, training, distance-800 & 1600m, hurdles and throwers (shot and discus). Thursday Mar. 2, training, 800 and 1600m, sprinters (100, 200, 400m), relays (400, 800, 1600m). Fri. Mar 3, training, high jump,and long jump, hurdles and throwers (shot and discus).
