Great day for the Webber-Wayne City Track and Field Program as both the boys and girls have great showings. Boys win all 4 relays WITHOUT their fastest legs for all four of them. Weston Hails jumps 20'7" in the long jump to win by over a foot. Hunter Danberry starts out his discus season with a win and only 7 feet shy of his all time PR. James Gentry wins the 110 Hurdles in his first ever HS hurdle race(Shoutout to Shanna Lusby for the training in middle school!) Finally for the boys Nathaniel Marlow wins the 800 with a PR of 2:13. The day included many PRs for a lot of our guys, I just cant list them all! On the girls side they won the 4x400 relay and placed 2nd in the 4x800 as well. Addison Seidel of Wayne City takes second in the high jump, and Savanna Hulbert takes 2nd in the Discus and anchors the winning 4x400 relay. Laney Hails slides into scoring position with a 6th place finish in the 200 meter dash. The ladies had a very strong showing without several of their girls as well, and we expect them to improve greatly over the course of the season! Highlights from HS Track at Fairfield: Boys: 4x100 1st(46.74) 4x200 1st (1:37.7) 4x400 1st(3:50) 4x800 NT(Only ran with 3 legs, 6:57 after 3rd leg with fastest leg missing) Discus: 1st (122' Danberry) Shot: 2nd (35' White-WC) LJ: 1st (20'7" Hails) 1600 2nd(4:57 Dalby) Girls: 4x400 1st(5:11) 4x800 2nd(13:07) Discus 2nd(77' Hulbert) HJ 2nd (4'4" Seidel WC)

A real good friend mine and amongst the bet coaches in Webber history is being honored with IBCA Coach of the Year honors for District 20. This honor is well deserved for the year they had and the numbers put up over a career. My congratulations goes out to Coach Brad Beaty for receiving this prestegous award/honor. I believe I speak for all of Webber Nation in relaying how proud we are of your achievement.
