At the regular February Board of Education meeting, the board took action on several items. First involving personnel, the Board accepted the resignation of Ashley Delks, who had been hired to teach Family and Consumer Science next year. She accepted a teaching position in Effingham. The Board also hired Hannah Pierce and Kayla Wright for teaching positions. Pierce, who is set to graduate from Greenville University in May, will teach special education next school year. Wright joins the district with fourteen years of experience and is scheduled to teach fourth grade next year.
In other action the Board approved a school calendar for 2022-2023, which can be found here. The Board revised Policy 6:210 to allow parental consent to view administratively approved R rated movies. A scholarship was awarded to graduating senior, Emma Hill, who intends to pursue education as a career path. Also, the district's COVID mitigation policy was revised to remove masking on buses.
