Good Morning,
The Bluford Board of Education held its regular October Board Meeting on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 6PM. The following items were discussed and action taken.
1. Approved the consent agenda, including Approval of the Minutes for the September 19, 2024 Regular Board of Education Meeting; Approval of the Minutes for the September 19, 2024 FY25 Budget Hearing; Approval of Executive Session Minutes from September 19, 2024 to remain confidential; Approval of Bills for October 2024; Approval of Financial Reports for September 2024; Approval of Suspensions Imposed by Building Administrators for September 2024;
2. Superintendent's report included information about 1st quarter financials. The first quarter financials show 23% of budgeted expenditures paid and 13% of budgeted revenue received. This is standard for the first quarter as we have not received tax installments yet. Information was shared about audit progress and the request for an extension. Also discussed was the upcoming CD maturities and the district's reinvestment of those funds.
Principals and Maintenance reports were provided to the Board.
3. FOIA Request (2) - 1 from North Egypt News was denied due to security reasons). Science of Reading information was provided.
4. Approval of district equipment as surplus for donation. (TVs)
5. Approval of the purchase of a new LS Series tractor for Operations and Maintenance.
6. Approval of the purchase of tractor implements for Operations and Maintenance.
7. Approval of the purchase of a used 2020 IC/CE school bus.
8. Approval of FY25 School Maintenance Project Grant.
9. Approval of School Improvement Plans.
The Board entered into Executive Session and the following items were approved following executive session:
Resignation of Matt Hicks as Head Grade School Softball Coach
Employment of the following: Chad Shreves (HS Asst. Spring Baseball Coach) and Cassandra Kiel (Grade School Aide)
Approval of Volunteers for PeeWee Basketball: (Edwin Holtgrewe, Caleb Talley, John Kiel, Matt Hicks, Zak Kiel, Tayler Morlan)
