The Bluford Board of Education held its regular May Board meeting on Thursday, May 16, 2024. The following items were discussed and action taken:
1. Approval of the Consent Agenda, including Minutes for the April 18, 2024 Regular Board of Education Meeting; Executive Session Minutes from April 18, 2024 to remain confidential; Bills for May 2024; Financial Reports for April 2024; Suspensions Imposed by Building Administrators for April 2024.
2. Superintendent, Principals and Maintenance Reports were given. The superintendent's report included information about graduation and the demolition of the mobile home on Chestnut Street. Principals reports included student highlights for both the GS and HS, including 8th grade and HS graduation ceremonies, scholarship and awards nights, end of year trips, field day, etc. Maintenance report also included updates on building and ground projects, planning for summer projects, etc.
3. The district received one FOIA request for vendor/PO information.
4. Approved the FY2024 Tentative Amended budget to put on display (on the district website)
5. Approval to set the FY 2024 Amended Budget Hearing for June 18, 2024 at 5:45PM in the BUSD District Office.
6. Approval of the the first reading of Board Policy Updates, from March 2024 Press Plus Update 114, as presented.
7. Approval to renew the Athletic Co-Op Agreement with Farrington Grade School.
8. Approval of the final reading of Board Policy Updates, from March 2024 Press Plus Update 114, as presented
9. Approval to accept Fuel Bid from Synergy for FY 2025.
10. Approval to accept Milk/Dairy Bid from Prairie Farms for FY 2025.
11. Approval of the Letter of Engagement for Dennis Rose and Associates to complete the FY24 audit.
12. Approval of 2023-2024 final school calendar, as presented.
13. Approval to seek bids for a handicap accessible passenger van, per specifications sheet.
14. Approval to appoint Katelyn Lewis as a Member of the Governing Board of Education of the Franklin and Jefferson Counties Special Education Dist. No 801.
15. Approval of the additional course(s) to the 2024-2025 High School Course Description Booklet, as presented.
The Board entered into Executive Session and the following items were approved following executive session:
